      Ahh, science.

Good old science, always proving things, isn’t it? This time science has proved that women like sex just as much as men, if not more.

This fact might not come as a surprise to most people, but there are still a lot of misconceptions about female sexual desire out there, and the common myth that men like sex more than women still prevails.

This is what the new research has disproven.

Fertility app Kindara conducted a survey recently to find out what women want sexually, and the results show they want as least as much sex as their partner, and for the most part they actually want it more often, Mic reports.

Kindara asked 500 female users about their typical desires. Some of the results were as expected – such as the idea that women value emotional connection during sex more than men, with 53 per cent of respondents saying it was an important requirement for good sex. And nearly a quarter said that foreplay was a better indicator of overall quality.

But in other news, women love sex and want more. Loads more. Over half the respondents said they weren’t entirely satisfied with how much sex they were currently having, and a huge 75 per cent said they’d like to fool around in some capacity more than three times a week. A total of 13 per cent even said they wanted to have sex more than six times a week.

In his seminal 2013 book What Do Women Want?, journalist Daniel Bergner described how scientists have started to uncover ‘a(chǎn) new, unvarnished norm’ for female sexuality which could confirm that women’s sexual desires are quite animalistic, like men’s, and are actually much more similar than previously thought.

So there you go, science is finally starting to recognise that men and women’s sexual appetites are quite similar. About time, science.
