      目前高考英語測試中的It is time (that) 后所接的從句采用的時態(tài)是did一般過去時或should do其中的should不省略的兩種形式。
      即
      It’s (high/ about) time (that) + 主語 + did
      It’s (high/ about) time (that) + 主語 + should do
      事實(shí)上，It’s (high/about) time (that) 后所接的從句還可以使用四種其他形式，作為老師不可不知。下面羅列出一些詞典中的例句以實(shí)證求證。
      It’s (high/ about) time (that) + 主語 + ought to do
      It’s (high/ about) time (that) + 主語 + was/were doing
      It’s (high/ about) time (that) + 主語 + could do
      It’s (high/ about) time (that) + 主語 + do
      It's (high/ about) time (that) + 主語 + are doing
      第1種形式：It’s (high/ about) time (that) + 主語 + did

      這兩個用語和過去時或虛擬語氣連用時指現(xiàn)在和將來：
      It’s (high) time he was (or were) taught a lesson.
      現(xiàn)在是該教訓(xùn)他的時候了。
      It’s about time he learnt to look after himself.
      現(xiàn)在已是他該學(xué)會照顧自己的時候了。
      （= the time has come現(xiàn)已到時候了）
      It’s (high) time和It’s about time之后不可以否定結(jié)構(gòu)，但可以用于簡略答語：
      I still haven’t thanked Aunt Lucy for her present.
      對露西姑姑送的禮物我還沒有表示感謝呢。
      —It’s time you did.
      你早該謝謝她了。（你已拖得太久了）
      試比較it’s time的用法：
      We’ve enjoyed the evening, but it’s time (for us) to go.

      “It’s time that…”中的that是連詞，應(yīng)看作是time的同位語從句，that在口語中可以省略。傳統(tǒng)語法說這是定語從句的觀點(diǎn)是錯誤的。

      我們早該上床就寢了。（加high表示強(qiáng)調(diào)）

      【對于此種用法，至今懷疑——是不是該詞典編寫或印刷有誤？】
      盡管我們看到了上面的七種形式，但目前就中高考英語來講，還是使用第1、第2種相對來說更加符合標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化考試的要求——希望看到這里的學(xué)生不要使用出錯。
