前言：

此前，我們也曾分享過(guò)一些文獻(xiàn)中的經(jīng)典句型，很多朋友覺(jué)得非常實(shí)用。這里，需要特別指出一點(diǎn)注意的地方，并不是高分論文中的句子就一定是好句子，在使用和學(xué)習(xí)的時(shí)候要有批判精神，取其精華，去其糟粕。今天，跟大家來(lái)剖析一下SCI論文寫(xiě)作中一個(gè)比較常見(jiàn)的錯(cuò)誤。例句來(lái)自一篇群友分享的Adv. Mater. 論文：

It is important to recognize that the composition and morphology of the material grown is not simply a function of the gas mixture and plasma conditions, but also depends sensitively on the pretreatment of the substrate prior to growth, as well as the substrate temperature.

下面留了一段空白，給諸位同樣的時(shí)間來(lái)細(xì)讀這個(gè)句子。

2、賞析

簡(jiǎn)單說(shuō)吧，我認(rèn)為這個(gè)句子有問(wèn)題。

這個(gè)句子本來(lái)是想用一個(gè)平行結(jié)構(gòu)的，not simply（only） XXX, but also XXX，用這種形式來(lái)倍增單個(gè)句子信息容量是很有效的，但執(zhí)行上似乎出了點(diǎn)兒混亂。

亂在哪兒呢？句子結(jié)構(gòu)平行的不夠嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)，或者嚴(yán)厲點(diǎn)兒說(shuō)，根本就不平行。

合理的平行表達(dá)有兩種：

• 動(dòng)詞+not simply XXX but also

例如， I sent a copy not only to my supervisor but also to the head of the division.

• 主語(yǔ)+not simply+動(dòng)詞1 but also+動(dòng)詞2

例如，The officers' colleagues on the state police force not only respected (動(dòng)詞1) the men professionally but regarded（動(dòng)詞2） them as friends.

而這個(gè)經(jīng)典例句則是

It is important to recognize that the composition and morphology of the material grown（A）is not simply a function of the gas mixture and plasma conditions, （B）but also depends sensitively on the pretreatment of the substrate prior to growth, as well as the substrate temperature. （C）

簡(jiǎn)化之，A is not simply B，but also depends on C

編造一個(gè)有實(shí)際內(nèi)容的例句則可以是 The composition is not simply complex, but also depends on temperature.

拿掉冗長(zhǎng)的成分，這個(gè)句子的問(wèn)題似乎凸顯一些了。

你可以說(shuō)The composition not simply is complex，but also depends on temperature. 其中，前半部分的is和后半部分的depends作為兩個(gè)動(dòng)詞，共用一個(gè)主語(yǔ)the composition，沒(méi)問(wèn)題。

或者，The composition is not simply complex，but also dependent on temperature.

這樣的話，兩個(gè)平行結(jié)構(gòu)不含有自治的動(dòng)詞，而只作為共同主謂語(yǔ)the composition is的平行表語(yǔ)，也沒(méi)問(wèn)題。

但兩個(gè)表達(dá)混著用，就是問(wèn)題。

3、解

當(dāng)然，有人會(huì)說(shuō)，指出這么一個(gè)偶然出現(xiàn)的問(wèn)題對(duì)很多人寫(xiě)作的提高并無(wú)多大意義。

沒(méi)錯(cuò)，雖然錯(cuò)誤最容易讓人獲得提高，但一個(gè)錯(cuò)誤大全并不能讓人學(xué)習(xí)的效率更高。

這里寫(xiě)這篇稿子的目的不是為了挑刺兒，而是提請(qǐng)大家注意兩點(diǎn)：

• 發(fā)表的論文，不一定語(yǔ)言沒(méi)問(wèn)題

• 如果要模仿，權(quán)威的書(shū)籍是更好的選擇
