英語(yǔ)中通常用some...others...來(lái)表示“有些……另一些”的意思。雖然這是一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單的并列結(jié)構(gòu)，但在使用上還是需要注意格式。

1) 格式一： others 前用 and 連接。（and 前可以加或不加逗號(hào)）
Some kinds of oysters are used as food, and others yield pearls. 有一些種類(lèi)的牡蠣可以食用，有些可產(chǎn)珍珠。
Some people learn by experiment and others learn by experience. 一些人通過(guò)實(shí)驗(yàn)學(xué)習(xí)，另一些人則從經(jīng)驗(yàn)中學(xué)習(xí)。

2) 格式二： others 前只用逗號(hào)隔開(kāi)也是可以的，如：
Some people own several houses, others have none. 一些人擁有幾棟房子，而一些人一棟也沒(méi)有。
Some people came by car, others came on foot. 有些人是坐汽車(chē)來(lái)的, 其他人是走著來(lái)的。

3) 除了用 and 進(jìn)行并列句式的連接之外，當(dāng)需要表達(dá)有轉(zhuǎn)折意思時(shí)，還可以用 while, but, whereas 等表示轉(zhuǎn)折的連詞，形成 some...while/but/whereas others 的結(jié)構(gòu)，如：
Some people like modern art, while others say that it is rubbish. 有些人喜歡現(xiàn)代藝術(shù)，而另一些人認(rèn)為它是垃圾。
I think some of the beads are made of animal bones but others are made of shells. 我認(rèn)為有些珠子是由動(dòng)物骨頭制成的，但另一些珠子是由貝殼制成的。

4) 由于是并列句型，所以在表達(dá)時(shí)還經(jīng)?？梢圆捎檬×芯涫?，如：
It may be true that some people favor the right side of their brain, and others the left. 有些人偏好用右腦，而另一些人偏好左腦。這也許是真的。
Some people believe in fate and others don't. 有些人相信命運(yùn)，有些人不相信。

5) some 和 others 也不一定總是在句子的開(kāi)頭。它們?cè)诰渥又羞€有更多靈活的使用，如：
There are some very good science program on TV, but others present scientific wonders simply as magic. 電視上有一些非常好的科學(xué)節(jié)目，但也有另一些節(jié)目把科學(xué)奇跡簡(jiǎn)單地表現(xiàn)為魔術(shù)。
Some buildings were destroyed and many others damaged in the blast. 有些建筑在爆炸中被毀，另有許多其的建筑受損。

6) 還需要提醒一下，這個(gè)句式中的some 對(duì)應(yīng)的是 others。不能用 the other。the other是用于兩者中的另一個(gè)。另外，others 也注意不要寫(xiě)成 the others。
