In a harvest season, a beekeeper（養(yǎng)蜂人） tried making honey. He had no knowledge of skills, so he consulted his father.

豐收的季節(jié)，一個(gè)養(yǎng)蜂人試釀蜂蜜。他不懂釀蜜技術(shù)，于是向父親咨詢。

The retired, old beekeeper told his son, “It's okay to make it in the common method. However, on the point of completing it, remember to drop a little bitter medicine into the honey.”

退休的老養(yǎng)蜂人告訴兒子：“釀造過程用平常方法就行，可是，釀成之時(shí)記得往蜂蜜里滴一點(diǎn)兒苦藥?！?/p>

On hearing this, he objected, “Why so? It is simply to ruin the precious honey.”

兒子一聽，不同意了。他說：“這是為什么？珍貴的蜂蜜不就全毀了嗎？”

His father just smiled without reply. Upon this（于是）, he made honey as he liked. Until the honey was done, he took a bit to taste. But his honey was not as sweet as his father's.

只見父親笑而不答。 于是，兒子自顧自地釀了蜜。釀好的時(shí)候，他取了一點(diǎn)兒蜜，嘗了起來。他釀的蜜果然沒有父親的甜。

He was so confused that he had to ask his father. “Excuse me, why did you ask me to add bitter medicine to the done honey? Won't it ruin the taste of the honey?”

兒子困惑極了，就去問父親： “爸爸，當(dāng)初您為什么讓我在釀好的蜂蜜里加苦藥呢？那樣不會(huì)破壞蜂蜜的味道嗎？”

“It is the little bitterness in the honey that excites your tongue and makes the honey sweet.”

“正是那一絲苦味刺激你的味蕾，吃蜜才會(huì)感到甘甜?！?/p>
