網(wǎng)上的聊天截圖顯示，家長抱怨老師教給自己9歲女兒這些“亂七八糟的東西”太早了，并且表示要“避開男生”。



 
A primary school teacher's conversation with her girl student's parent has gone viral because of the topics involved. Snapshots of the WeChat interaction show the parent complaining that it is too early for the teacher to be discussing pregnancy and anatomical differences between boys and girls to a class of 9-year-olds. 

家長稱打算將此事反映給校長。

The parent even said he/she would raise the issue with the headmaster.

中國日報(bào)網(wǎng)評(píng)論指出，家長的顧慮或許可以理解，比如他們不希望孩子過早接觸性方面的話題。然而，家長沒有意識(shí)到，性教育實(shí)際上可以幫助孩子躲避性侵害。對(duì)性教育的避而不談，會(huì)使得孩子在無意識(shí)的情況下受到傷害。

The parent's concern is understandable. He/she wants to protect his/her child from sex-related discussions so early in life. However, the parent fails to realize that sex education can actually shield the child from sexual exploitation. Ignorance could lead to a child being sexually exploited without even realizing it.

有關(guān)家長和老師對(duì)待性教育問題的態(tài)度引發(fā)網(wǎng)友討論，不少人認(rèn)為老師的做法沒有問題，這個(gè)年齡段的學(xué)生接受性教育是合適的。
   




據(jù)第六聲報(bào)道，在很多學(xué)校中，性教育被長期忽視，而這一問題在農(nóng)村地區(qū)尤為明顯。較低的生活水平、傳統(tǒng)的社會(huì)觀念、以及缺乏教育資源，很難讓教師講授更加全面的性教育課程。

Sex education has long been neglected by schools across China, but the problem is far worse in rural areas. Lower local living standards, traditional social attitudes, and a lack of educational resources have made it difficult for teachers to introduce a more comprehensive curriculum.

以甘肅省為例，2018年的一份調(diào)查中顯示，70%以上的當(dāng)?shù)爻踔猩鷽]有接受過任何形式的性教育。而在接受過性教育的學(xué)生中，大部分只上過幾節(jié)課，接受過教育的學(xué)生也對(duì)于性別暴力、艾滋病、避孕、墮胎等問題知之甚少。

In Gansu more than 70% of junior high school students haven’t received any form of sex education, according to a 2018 study. Most of those who have are only given a handful of classes, and even the students who have received the most sex education show little understanding of issues such as gender violence, AIDS, contraception, and abortion, the researchers found.



中國日報(bào)網(wǎng)評(píng)論指出，適當(dāng)?shù)男越逃梢员Ｗo(hù)孩子的安全，讓孩子們在面對(duì)性侵害時(shí)，明白該如何保護(hù)自己。因此，家長應(yīng)該歡迎并且在家中配合進(jìn)行教導(dǎo)，而非反對(duì)學(xué)校的性教育。

Proper sex education can help keep children safe. By letting children know how they should seek help if someone tries to sexually molest them, we can protect children from sexual abuse. Therefore, instead of opposing sex education in school, parents should welcome it and cooperate with schools by imparting sex education at home too.
