Hey, it's Mr. Wong here. I hope you're doing well. So when I was a kid, I used to hate going to public restrooms because not many places in China had toilets at the time, they were mostly squat toilets(蹲廁) or toilet squats, whatever you call them. 

And I was an overweight kid which is why I can't even squat for 2 seconds. I would either fall on my back or fall foward on my face. Trust me, it was a nightmare for me. 

So every time I had to use the restroom, I would lie to the teacher that I'm not feeling well, and had to go home to take some medicine. The teacher would always allow me to do so, I didn't think too much of it because I got to go home and use my toilet, haha. 

The good thing is: I lived really close to my school, so going home was a breeze. I would go home and do my 'business' then go back to school in under 10 minutes, life was good..., until the last day of elementary school…

The teacher asked us which middle school we'd like to go to. I said in a loud voice in front of the class, 'I really like this elementary school, and I really like the teachers here, so to be closer to this school and you, my dear teacher, I would choose the closest middle school around here!' The teacher looked at me and said, 'Wong, I hate to break it to you, but there are no middle schools around here. The closest one is about 20 kilometers away, that said(short for 'with that said'), you've got to learn how to use the squat toilets, because there's no way you can hold it in for that long until you get home. Don't you think that's a bit of a hassle traveling 20 kilometers home just to poop poo then travel another 20 back to school?'
