部分倒裝：把謂語動詞的一部分置于主語之前，結(jié)構(gòu)是：be動詞／助動詞／情態(tài)動詞＋主語＋動詞原形，有以下幾種情況：

(1.)否定或否定意義的副詞或介詞短語置于句首時，引起部分倒裝結(jié)構(gòu)，常見的詞有 little/never/ no/not/seldom(不常）／no longer/no where/hardly(rarely/scarcely)…when/no sooner …than/in no way(決不）／at no time(決不）／on no account(決不）／in no case /not only/not until/by no means等。

Not a single mistake did he make in the exam. 在考試中，他一個錯也沒出。

I don't know they quarrelled. Nor do I care.

我不知 道他們吵架了，我也不關(guān)心。

Not until you told me did I know about it.

直到你告訴我，我才知道那事。

Never before have I met with such a situation.

以前我從來沒看見過這陣勢。

Seldom does he go to see films.

他很少去看電影。

At no time will China first use nuclear weapons.

中國決不先使用核武器。

Rarely did a debate attract so much media attention.很少有辯論賽受到媒體的如此關(guān)注。

Not only was the city polluted but the streets were crowded.

不僅城市被污染了，而且街上很擁擠。

Hardly had we started when it began to rain. 我們剛出發(fā)，就開始下雨了。

Not until all the fish died in the river did the villagers realize how serious the pollution was.

直到河里所有的魚都死了村民們才意識到污染是多么嚴重。

2.當副詞only強調(diào)狀語（介詞／副詞／狀語從句），并且置于句首時，句子謂語動詞用部分倒裝。

Only in this way can we find the solution. 只有用這種方式我們才能找到解決辦法。

Only after my uncle came was the machine repaired. 只有在我叔叔來了之后，電腦才修好。

注意：only修飾狀語如不在句首就不能倒裝，only修飾別的成分時，即使放在句首也不倒裝。

We can succeed only by working hard. 我們只有靠努力工作才能成功。

I know only English. 我只會英語。

Only I know English 只有我會英語。

3.so/neither/nor置于句首表示前面的情況同樣適用于另一人（物）時，句型是so/neither/nor+be 動詞（助動詞／情態(tài)動詞）＋主語。

I like living here,so does she. 我喜歡住在這里，她也喜歡。

I never do any reading in the morning, nor doesJohn.

我從不在早上看書，約翰也不看。

4.so(such)...that句型中，當so(such)...位于句首時，主句的謂語動詞部分用部分倒裝結(jié)構(gòu)。

So tired was she after a day's work that she could hardly stand on her feet. 在一天的工作之后她是如此累，以至于幾乎站不住了。

5.as引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時，通常把從句中的表語、狀語，甚至謂語動詞的一部分置于句首，如果作表語的是名詞，置于句首時需省掉冠詞。

Try as you may,you can't persuade him to give up his idea.

你努力也不能說服他放棄他的想法。

Tired as we were,none of us would stop to have arest.

我們很疲勞，但是我們沒有一人愿意停下來休息。

Much as I like it,I can't afford it.

盡管我喜歡那東西，但是我買不起。

Child as he is,he knows a lot.

盡管他是個孩子，但他知道的很多。

6.在省略了if的假設(shè)性虛擬條件句中，如果從句里含有were/should/had,則把其置于句首，即Were/Should/Had+主語。

Should it rain tomorrow,we would delay the sports meet.

一旦明天下雨，我們就推遲運動會。

Were I you,I would accept his invitation如果我是你，我就接受他的邀請。

Had I known about it,I would have helped him.
