一、doubt 用作名詞，意為“疑問；疑惑”。without doubt = there is no doubt that ...毫無疑問；in doubt 疑惑，拿不定主意。如：

?I have no doubt of his ability.  對于他的能力我毫不懷疑。
?We are in doubt(about) what to donext. 我們不知道下一步要做什么。

?二、doubt用作動詞，意為“懷疑”。
?1、用在肯定句中，后接whether或if引導(dǎo)的從句。如：
?I doubt whether they can swim across the river.  我懷疑他們能否游過河去。
?He doubts if she will keep her word.  他不敢肯定她是否會遵守諾言。
?We doubt that they can complete the work ahead of time.  我們不相信他們能提前完成這項工作。
?I doubt that he will come.  我看他未必會來。
?2、用在否定句和疑問句中，后接that從句。如：
?I don't doubt that he can finish the task on time.  我相信他能按時完成任務(wù)。
?Do you doubt that she will succeed?  你懷疑她會成功嗎？
